Bachmann shows class and character again… (via The Conservative New Ager)

So gay rights activist didn’t do themselves any favors today. Hot on the heels of a great video that made the rounds on Facebook last week showing that gay people can raise children just as well as straight people……there is a new video that destroys all the good the last one did and shows that gay people are as human as everyone else, and can be absolutely terrible parents just as straight people can be terrible parents.Take a look.

via Bachmann shows class and character again….

I saw this post earlier today on Tumblr and this was my response to it.

“Children don’t come up with statements like that on their own. They don’t say “Mommy, will you take me see Michelle Bachmann so I can tell her that you don’t need fixing?” He was clearly pressured into this, the parent’s had their camera out, recording, coaching him to say these words. Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.

Say what you want to say to Bachmann to her face, don’t use your kid as a puppet to stand behind.”

Fairly similar to TCNA’s response, check out his post and watch the videos.

About meredithancret

My name is Meredith and I’m a social media addict. I’m a political science major who basically eats, sleeps, and breathes politics…when I’m not watching NCIS, reading fantasy novels, or baking. Liberals seem to hate me for my very existence, it might have something to do with my being a conservative who is both female and gay…

  1. “there is a new video that destroys all the good the last one did”

Really? A little boy saying that his mommy doesn’t need fixing destroys all the good of a young man applauding his two mothers? Sorry, but that’s gross hyperbole.

    • Did you read the reasoning behind that claim at all?

      • Why would he need to read? He has prejudices to maintain.

      • I did. And I reject it as sound reasoning. Any more than Christians turning their children into little evangelizers ruins any good that other Christians do.

“Why would he need to read? He has prejudices to maintain.”

Hi pot. I’m kettle. You’re black.

        • Just making the comment about pots and kettles doesn’t make it true. And just because you reject it as sound reasoning doesn’t make it wrong…it just means you can’t judge sound reasoning.

For instance your statement ” ruins any good that other Christians do” seems to imply that I am saying that all homosexuals who are gay have had all the good they have done washed away…I’m not saying that…the context of the statement is that the PR war which was given a major boost by the first video was dealt an equally major blow by this new video…that the good of one washed out the good of the other. You’re taking the statement out of context and applying it to the all the good and bad homosexuals actually do.

So once again (and I’m referencing our previous conversation http://conservativenewager.wordpress.com/2011/11/27/pagans-are-not-doing-themselves-any-favors/) you have made numerous assumptions about an argument that simply are not true.

Now after my statement that this video erases the good in the PR war, which is a completly sound reasoning…I then do lay into this woman whom would exploit her child in such a manner. Now to compare someone would exploit a child to someone who would raise a child to be an evangelic (someone who is trying to save people’s souls based on their beliefs, which I don’t believe to be true, but the intent of evangelicalism is to help people) is also an unfair comparison. This parent exploited her child, evangelicalism is designed to teach children to do the right thing, if this mother wanted to teach her child to do the right thing she would have taken on Bachmann personally. And before you take me to task, yes I realize you meant evangelical to mean bigoted and radical Christian in the mold of the Westboro baptists, but that is not what the word means that there are lots of evangelicals who may be passionate (and sometimes annoying) are not bigoted, intolerant or vicious. And even using your definition of evangelical is not perfect, as in that case parents are still able to put money where their mouth is and live out the same behavior that their children are doing (which in terms of being correct still makes them worse than the mother in this video, yet somehow show just a smidgen more character).

        • I’d say Cris handled this. I agree with his views on the issue.

I might add that, in the realm of PR, groups like Westboro Baptist have obviously have done the same as the second video in this post.

Now I have the flu so I’m going to go take more medication and sleep.
