Professor At State University Pressures Students to Stomp on Paper with “Mohammed” Written on it, White House Expresses Outrage at this “Horrible Assault of First Amendment”

A Muslim student in a class at a state university was horribly perturbed when, last week, one of his professor’s gave an assignment to his class that involved writing the name of Mohammed on a sheet of paper in large letters. The professor then requested that they put the paper on the floor and stomp on it.

The student refused to take part in the assignment and lodged a complaint with the school against the professor.

The professor, who has claimed that the assignment was only being used as an exercise in critical thinking and was not intended to be offensive toward Muslim students, has been place on administrative leave until the case can be looked at further and a formal apology on the behalf of the University has been given to the student who lodged the complaint.

The leader of the organization CAIR (The Council for Islamic-American Relations) has filed a lawsuit against the university and openly called them out for hiring such a blatantly Islamophobic professor.

Meanwhile the President and Secretary of State personally called the student in question to apologize for their 1st Amendment rights being so horribly violated and swore that they would “get” the person who published this horrible lesson plan that was so disrespectful to Islam.

Burning of the American flag has gone up in the Middle East and many fear that more riots will be occur in the Middle East as result of this culturally insensitive action taken by a professor.

_______________

Oh wait, no…that’s not the actual story. The actual story is that a Christian student was almost thrown out of his university for refusing to take part in a lesson that involved writing “JESUS” on a sheet of paper and then stomping on it.

The professor hasn’t been punished, the incident hasn’t been investigated, there has CERTAINLY not been any calls made to the student from the President or the Secretary of State (they save that kind of time for people like Sandra Fluke and blaming youtube videos for inciting riots) and the student was only recently allowed to come back to school because of several lawyers offering to take the case pro bono and the extreme amount of public outrage on the issue.

The scenario I laid out would be realistic if the professor had chosen Islam as his example for a lesson on “critical thinking”, but when it happens to Christianity the person who files the complaint nearly gets kicked out of school.

Yeah, that’s some equality we got here.

A thought experiment (via Conservative New Ager) and a few follow up thoughts on my letter to the editor.

Before we begin this thought experiment, a disclaimer. If you burn anyone’s holy book intentionally you’re an asshole (burning a trash heap and they just happen to be in there, that’s not intentional). That is a given. No need to really discuss it because the assholishness of the act is self-evident. It shouldn’t be a crime, but if you do it just to be obnoxious, there is something wrong with you.Now for our thought experiment.

If I burned a copy of the Tao Te Ching, how many Taoist do you think would riot?

If I shredded….(continued at link)

via A thought experiment.

I might have shared this before, but it seems pertinent to share again…especially given that my letter to the editor now has a complete collection of response letters.

As one of the intelligent responses (probably the only one) said: Your reactions were all very dramatic and, ultimately, only proved that Ms. Walker’s assessment was, at least in part, right. The reaction to her criticism was completely disproportionate to the criticism itself.

So from me, to the State Press and all those who responded to my letter, I extend a heart felt thanks.

You proved my point completely. Learn to take criticism where criticism is due. This religion is not based around peaceful ideology (which was my point, my point was not ‘all muslims are crazed terrorists’ as you seem to be thinking, can you read?), this religion is not respectful of women, homosexuals, or Jews.

Quite simply, you are lying through your teeth…or still deluding yourself.

Gobsmacking intellectual dishonesty from liberals who think we are too dumb to notice.

I think I’ve known this all along, somewhere in the back of my head, but the attacks on American Embassies throughout the Islamic world have really hit home how stupid, dishonest, and utterly outrageous the liberal view of Islam is.

I’m beginning to wonder if the liberal part of the population walks around with nothing between their ears, but air. How else could they possibly believe their own intellectually dishonest and politically correct bullshit?

Perhaps, similar to the early days of Catholicism, the leaders know what they are saying is complete shit, but they keep feeding it to their peons. However, in this day and age of readily available informatiom, that sort of ignorance doesn’t exactly reflect well on the lower echelons of liberalism and it doesn’t reflect well on the upper echelons when their views are so stupid that they can only get empty headed, Che Guevara t-shirt wearing, marijuana smoking dunderheads to buy their words.

The only other option is that the liberal leaders actually buy their own bullshit as well…which is just too scary for me to contemplate at this juncture. (I would bet on that being the case with Pelosi, Reid, Buffet, and Biden though…)

Now that I have the main insult portion of the evening done, let me discuss the truly hypocritical and hilariously (or obscenely) stupid notion of Islam that liberals keep trying to feed us.

Liberals keep telling us that Islam is the religion of peace. Over and over we hear a line that is either fed by the fact that they have never read the Quran, never watched the news, never listened to the sermons given by Imams in the Middle East, or simply willful ignorance and self-delusion.

But, suppose, for a brief moment, that they are right.

If Islam IS the religion of peace, then there should be no instances of violence fueled by the religion.

If it IS peaceful, then we should be free to criticize it without fear as we criticize any other religion in our country.

Stop supposing, that moment is over.

You can clearly see that this is not the case.

I actively consider my own safety when I post a cartoon of Mohammed on my political tumblr.

Our secretary of state and our President spend more time calling a youtube video “Disgusting And Reprehensible” than they do making it clear that they do making it clear that innocent American citizens being murdered is NOT acceptable.

They spend time saying that “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” and apologizing for America’s freedom of speech.

They drag citizens in for questioning when they make a video that speaks the truth about the background of Mohammed.

They are TERRIFIED of Islam.

They KNOW that Islam is not a religion of peace.

How else can you explain their quick decision to roll over and submit to them, apologize for American citizens exercising their rights, and beg and plead with us to not criticize this ‘religion of peace’.

That’s not going to happen, by the way.

I DID post that cartoon of Mohammed on my tumblr, because freedom of speech is something I would willingly die for, along with the other freedoms we have in this country.

But liberals need to realize we aren’t buying their act. Their speech of ‘Islam is a religion of peace and they would never do anything to harm anyone, but please don’t criticize them or speak out against them, because they might start killing us…even though they are peaceful and their religion advocates nothing, but peace.’

No.

Stop lying.

This is level of stupidity and a line that NO ONE in this country should be buying.

A religion of peace does not react to a video that mocks their religion with murder and rioting and burning flags.

A religion of peace does not advocate a ban on criticism of their religion, because what is there to criticize  if it is so peaceful and enlightened.

I would call Buddhism a religion of peace much more readily than Islam and I know Buddhists aren’t exactly lobbying to ban negative speech against them. Mostly because Buddhists just don’t give a fuck what other people think, which, honestly, is the only reasonable way to live. Who wants to go through life getting angry at every person who disagrees with them? If I did that, I’d never have a moment of low blood pressure in my life.

More importantly though, your government doesn’t have to restrict your criticism of a peaceful religion. You don’t have to second guess yourself and wonder whether getting your words out there is worth the potential blow-back and danger to yourself and your family.

No, Islam is not a religion of peace and liberals are aware of this, or they are just plain stupid.

Liars or morons are your choices, neither option make for good leaders.

P.S.

Here’s Pat Condell’s letter to the rioting Muslims around the world.

Co-signed, Me. I agree with him all the way.

Christopher Hitchens, ‘bloodthirsty barbarian and a club-carrying primitive’. All the more reason to like him I say.

Never let it be said that following Pharyngula on twitter isn’t a blood pressure raising experience…at least for a conservative.

For the past day I’ve been discussing Christopher Hitchens with various conservative friends of mine, plus seeing numerous tweets from conservatives (Christian conservatives at that) like Ann Coulter, Dinesh D’Souza, and Andy Levy (…okay, I don’t know his religion and he’s actually a libertarian) confessing regret that Hitchens had shuffled off this mortal coil. Conservatives liked him and he was proof that, like gay people are not constrained to the political left for their sexuality, atheists are not bound to liberal ideals (like cultural and moral relativism) because of their lack of belief in god.

So it was no surprise to me to read a post on Pharyngula entitled “The dark side of Hitchens”. His atheism may have been a common thread uniting Hitchens and PZ Myers together, but his political beliefs about war, terrorism, and his beliefs that Islam is not a peaceful religion, but a religion of hate, was enough for Myers to say that Hitchens was a “bloodthirsty barbarian and a club-carrying primitave”. Myers proof that anything Hitchens claimed about Islam, war, or terrorism was false?

Nil.

But that won’t stop liberals from believing him.

F0r myself, I liked Hitchens. His death is a blow to reason, intelligence, and the truth. Not a crippling blow of course, but a terribly sad one. He did not care what people said about him, he unapologetically stood for what he believed and backed up his beliefs with proof and eloquence. He refused to bend to political correctness and sought the truth. We could all stand to learn a few lessons from Hitchens. Not the least of which is, that when liberals are calling you a barbarian, you are probably doing something right.

Of course I didn’t always agree with that man, but I did agree with him on a lot of major points.

Hitchens on Islam

Hitchens on war on Terror

Hitchens hating on Michael Moore

Of course he isn’t the only one who sees the truth of Islam…and these are big names for Atheism. What does Myers have to say to that?

The Great Palestinian Lie – Pat Condell

Yet another amazing video from Pat.

I only wish I could be as good at saying these things as he is, since I’m not…I’ll let him do the talking for me today.

Make sure you check the links below the video, they are the background and historical documentation and he always includes links like this in all of his videos.

Gutfeld: Homophobia and Islamophobia the Same Thing?

Back in March my friend over at The Conservative New Ager sent me a link to a Greg-alogue from Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, a late night news and comedy show on Fox news. The show is the conservative answer to comedic news shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report on Comedy Central.

Keep in mind that the Greg-alogues are rather tongue-in-cheek, but they do address serious issues.

Also keep in mind that Red Eye is a show whose main commentators, Greg Gutfeld, Bill Schulz and Andy Levy have never come across as homophobic in the least. They are good natured, silly, friendly, and, occasionally, foul mouthed, but never homophobic. They respect people for their accomplishments and disrespect them for their lack there of…never for their gender, sexuality or race.

The video is here

Here’s part of a letter from a group of concerned types, who claim the march will “oppress other marginalized groups.”

“We want both homophobia and Islamophobia addressed as a collective problem and not feed one against the other, we do not recognise these as distinct categories.”

So let’s rewind. Homophobia and Islamophobia are the same thing.

So I got to ask, do you think they would also group homophobia and anti-Christian attacks as one in the same? Do they see crude jokes aimed at Mormons as no different than anti-gay jokes?

I don’t think so.

So why are they embracing Muslims as marginalized brethren and not others?

Well, for one, it’s harder to protest around people who really hate you, so better to stay out of Islam’s way and target the gentler dissenters like white, pudgy Christians (the people who remind you of dad and don’t want you dead).

So here we have fear masked as tolerance forcing gays into contortions even circus performers wouldn’t try.

I mean, how can the gay left defend a religion whose practitioners want gays punished? They’re joining hands with folks who in other more extreme lands might cut off theirs.

Anyway, let me remind you that I hate all parades, so I don’t mind if this one’s cancelled. Marching to celebrate something you are as opposed to have achieved seems odd. And later I always wake up naked in a bush

I find it amusing that I wrote a post saying exactly the same thing that Greg says in that final paragraph and I wrote it months after, without input from the Greg-alogue.

As for the rest. I completely agree with Greg.

It is completely unconscionable to stand up in defense of one religion, which hates you more than (or at least as much as) Christianity, while attacking Christianity for being too judgmental of the gay community.

Homophobia and Islamophobia are in no way the same thing. The gay community in the UK is living in a fantasy world if they truly believe that. If the Muslim community wanted to embrace the gay community then they would have no problem with the gay pride parades in the first place and, therefore, the gay community would not need to feel they were hurting the Muslim communities feelings by having their parade.

But why should I be surprised?

The majority of the gay community seems to have bought into the liberal ideology that Christianity is evil and violent (and if the liberal is a Christian they should feel guilty about it and try to distance themselves from most of the religion) but every other religion (especially Islam) are wonderful and peaceful and should be respected and openly embraced.

Sorry. I choose to judge all religions equally and by my judgment…Islam is not worthy of my respect, nor is it worthy of my changing the way I live because it might hurt the Muslim community’s feelings. If I’m not willing to change my life to suit Christians, why the hell would I change it to suit Muslims?

That is a question that the gay community in the UK (and in other parts of the world) needs to be asking itself.
