Indonesia – Miss Islam: “What is the one most important thing our society needs?” “That would be more Jihad, Mohammed”

Muslims in Indonesia, apparently greatly displeased with the Miss World pageant being held there, have launched an alternate event entitled “Muslimah World”.

“Muslimah World is a beauty pageant, but the requirements are very different from Miss World — you have to be pious, be a positive role model and show how you balance a life of spirituality in today’s modernized world,” Muslimah World pageant founder Eka Shanti tells AFP.

According to Al Arabiya, choosing the 20 finalists from 500 applicants included “competitors reciting the Quran and sharing anecdotes of how they can to wear the headscarf, which is a requirement of the show.”

Not the Face! (AKA: Beating Your Wives As Allah Commanded)

Cleric Abd Al-Rahman Mansour who also thinks it's fine to beat your wife under certain circumstances. How about...NO!

Here’s another cleric who thinks it’s fine to beat your wife under certain circumstances.
How about…NO!

A good general rule for most people who are beating their wives, avoid the face.*

This helps to ensure that your neighbors don’t call the cops and strangers in the supermarket don’t look at you judgmentally or try to give your wife the number for a shelter for battered women. Wouldn’t want her getting ideas after all.

It also has the added benefit of keeping you in favor with Allah. Even if you aren’t a Muslim, you’ll be doing the multicultural thing and that’s just politically correct and polite.

Things Feminists Hate: Disney Princesses – Jasmine

Image property of Disney, edited by Walt Disney Confessions blog

Jasmine is an especially interesting Disney Princess. She’s the first to not star in her own movie for one thing, but she’s also the first to be clearly of non-European origin, which adds a whole new layer of problems as Disney actually semi-accurately tried to portray the culture of the time (including thieves getting their hands chopped off, ewww).

Of course Aladdin is the main character, but Jasmine is no slouch in the world-savage department. Naturally Aladdin has the big guns to call on, in the form of the Genie, but he’s the main character so what do you expect? This isn’t a “Disney Princess” film in the same way that Snow White or Beauty in the Beast is, so you have to deal with the female being slightly more secondary in the story.

If you have a problem with that then please address your complaints to the author of 1001 Arabian Nights, where the movie got it’s original concept.

They Still Hate Us More Than They Love Their Children

“We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”

― Golda Meir

I don’t know how I can sum up my feelings on the recent tragedy in Nigeria, carried out by Boko Haram. They set a school on fire because they believe that “western education is sinful” (the translation of their name) and I suppose that killing 42 people (most of them children) is more moral to them and their god than allowing them to be educated by “sinful” westerners.

School burned in March in Borno State by Boko Haram

42, with the death toll still increasing and many more children from the school (which housed over a thousand children). They shot children and teachers and set the dormitory on fire and this is not the first school they’ve done this too.

In some ways I have to admit that at least Boko Haram is more honest. They have the guts to murder innocent children themselves, rather than the cowardly way that Hamas using children as pawns against Israel. At least they light the fire themselves, rather than using playgrounds and apartment buildings as launching pads for rockets and storage for weapons.

But in the end it’s all the same. They do this in the name of (and because of, let’s not argue, the Koran does proscribe this sort of killing, the fact that some ‘moderates’ choose to not follow those commands doesn’t change that) religion. They do this to spread Sharia law and keep the commandments of Allah and Mohammed.

Hamas and Boko Haram might as well be the same group. Whether you can prove financial ties or not, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Hamas, Hezbollah, The Muslim Brotherhood, all are the same in my eyes.

No snark today, I’m not up to it.

“Not My Little Angel” Syndrome Taken to an Absurd Extreme by Family of Boston Marathon Bombers

You’re “little angels” (AKA, Islamic terrorists) committed the ultimate irony by stealing a car with a “coexist” sticker on it, by the way.

In his book, Republicans and Reincarnation, my friend Cris Pace (of The Conservative New ager) writes about the problems of the modern education and describes one of the major issues, parenting…or the lack there of.

It is a much-repeated joke among teachers about parent teacher conferences that the only parents who show up are the parents we didn’t need to talk to, since the parents that show up are the ones who have kids passing. Or we get parents who have what I call, “Not my Little Angel” syndrome.

“Your child is failing”

“Not my little angel.”

“Your child cheated on his test.”

“Not my little angel.”

“Your child attempted to burn down the school and we have video of it.”

“Not my little angel.”

“Your child grabbed a girl by the hair, shoved her face to his crotch, and said ‘I might as well rape you now, and get it over with.”

“Boys will be boys.”*

– Republicans and Reincarnation, chapter 11: Educating our Children into the Idiots of Tomorrow – The Problems of Modern American Education and the Society Around it

In watching the coverage of the manhunt for the two Boston Marathon Bombers I noted that several members of the bombers’ families (and several of their friends) took this syndrome to absurd and delusional heights.

Best Mayor in America…if by “Best” You Mean Most Hypocritical and Opportunistic

Menino will give this guy’s mosque $1.8 million, but he wanted to ban Chick-fil-a.

Then again Mayor Tom Menino of Boston IS a liberal, which probably makes those qualities a necessity when people like Elizabeth Warren are judging who the “best” mayor in America is.

This recent resurgence in Menino’s name being mentioned on the internet, now that he is retiring after 2 decades, gives me  a chance to talk about something that I briefly touched on back during the whole Chick-Fil-A debacle last year.

You might remember that Mayor Menino led the charge against Chick-Fil-A, saying that he would block Chick-fil-a from opening stores in Boston. Unsurprisingly to anyone that actual understands the law, it turned out he couldn’t do that.

Perhaps he also remembered that blocking a private company, whose CEO supports traditional marriage, from coming to the city would be more than a little hypocritical after he sold $2 Million worth of land to a mosque (for $175,000, essentially donating $1.8 million to the mosque – separation of church and state anyone? Anyone?)  and even spoke at the ribbon cutting, the Islamic Society of Boston (which built the mosque) has ties to Imam’s that have called for a second holocaust of the Jews and believes that the only disagreement in Islam about homosexuals is whether they should be burned to death or thrown off a tall building.

Freedom of Speech is Great…Unless You Offend Me: Another Thing Islam and Liberalism Have in Common

“This is offensive!”

I hear this all the time from liberals online, usually in response to something true that I’ve posted that sort of punches their worldview in the face.

In Breitbart fashion I respond: So?

Sometimes people in the Ann Coulter tag on tumblr start talking about how someone should “shut that b*tch up” and wondering why she’s “still allowed to talk?”

My response: The First Amendment.

You don’t have a right to not be offended, you don’t have a right to not be insulted, and you really don’t have a right to tell me it’s illegal to criticize your religion, your behavior, or anything else I choose.

For some reason liberals and Muslims both would like the government, in some way, to stop me from saying things that offend them.
